US Apple store is now selling unlocked and contract-free iPhone 5 at $649 (16 GB). Additional fees such as taxes could be up to $55. 
So, it could be a total of about $710 which is equivalent to around OMR 273.

Price of iPhone 5 in Oman

Muscat Mobiles website is offering the iPhone 5 (16 GB) for OMR 330! I think it is a great deal; because if you try to get it from the UK (by yourself - no shipping) it would cost you the same.
